Willow Tree Nursery is a home-from-home, community-based setting in Milton, Portsmouth. We pride ourselves on providing a nurturing environment which is an extension of the child’s home and family. Our nursery is a family-owned and family-run setting led by two of its owners, Katie Page and Shannan Page, who between them have many years of experience and a wealth of knowledge and qualifications in the care and education of young children.

At Willow Tree Nursery, we put the child at the centre of everything we do, recognising each child as a unique individual and supporting their learning and development at their own pace and in an engaging and meaningful way. We support children's learning through play and exploration based on their interests, within an enabling environment and with the support of attentive, knowledgeable and nurturing adults who are present and in the moment with the children. We view the environment as the third teacher (the child's parents/carers as the first, our practitioners as the second) and so offer an environment full of natural, authentic, open-ended and intelligent resources which encourage curiosity, exploration, creativity and imagination. We make great use of the outdoors and our local community by going on regular outings and offering free flow between the indoor and outdoor environment. Our goal is to prepare children for the next phase of their learning journey and to instil within them a love of learning and true mastery of key age and stage appropriate skills in the seven areas of learning as outlined by the EYFS. We endeavour to support children to thrive and become confident, resilient and independent children.

Willow Tree Nursery is open Monday - Friday 7.30am-6pm for 51 weeks every year (closing the last working day before Christmas Eve), offering full time and term-time places. We are OFSTED registered and able to offer government funded places for eligible 2, 3 and 4 year olds and tax-free childcare.
